did you know that EVERY asian girl wants to open up her own bakery/coffee place/cafe/crap?

EVERY
ASIAN
GIRL.

all of them say that they lovvvvveeeeeee to bake and make food.
all of them take pictures of their stupid desserts that they made.
all of them start to whine about how they want to quit school and go to culinary school so that their dream of having their own cafe will come true once school gets tough.
all of them want to do that.
all of them.
I
WAS
ONE
OF
THEM.
i was.

now im not.
i realize that yes, i like to make weird concoctions and shove it down everyone’s throats so that they can compliment me until my head is so big that i start to lose balance.
but, i also know that running away from difficult and unpleasant situations to do pursue in something that i supposedly “love” is not the answer.

i feel that i am all about being super duper realistic.
okay, so let’s say you quit school, or after school you go to culinary school. then you try to get a job, keyword: try.
so after you spend all that money going to a few more years of schooling, you think you’re ready to get that awesome job or open up your own bakery?
where are you going to get money?
how are you going to be able to pay off the loans to take out?
where are you going to open up this so called place of your dreams?
workers, you need to find reliable workers…but the only people who apply are ungrateful teenagers who dont give a crap about anything except their hair.

i think i could go on…

so you can now do one of two things:
1. sigh, and then move on to school. and then remember that whoever is paying for your education is a great person because it is so freakin expensive to be in college.
dont forget that this is a huge opportunity, and privilege!

2. do something about it. go major in something that will help you with your future shop. maybe you should major in business, or economics, so you will perhaps kind of know what steps to take to make your business thrive.
oh, and let’s say you dont want to change your major/cant. that’s okay.
there are other strange/helpfu/indirect ways that benefit you. go to all your classes, go to all your morning classes.
food doesnt bake itself in the morning, you have to wake up preeetttyy early to bake that dough so that people can buy and eat it.
discipline is hard to achieve, but it is definitely one of the most helpful tools in life (wow that’s cheesy, but it’s so true. mm cheese).

so basically, stay in school kiddies. and dont try to live your silly dream because it wont come true and it gives me more of a chance to succeed because of the less competition.
kthxbye.

oh, i even went as far as to thinking about the title of my bakery, back in the day:
“Joy’s Goodies”
“Get Baked With Joy”
“Jiggylywigglypiggly”
