experimenting
i dont really like to experiment that much whenever i bake. now cooking is a different story because you dont have to worry about being exact on flour measurements or whether orn ot you added baking powder versus baking soda…
baking is so tedious.
anyway, so i had a disastrous pineapple frosting/jam incident the last time i baked (see previous entry for more details…or not!). I didnt want to throw away the frosting/jam/pineapple gloop because it still tasted fine–it just looked funny. funny how a lot of things are based on looks despite the actual content. i guess i shouldnt have ended and started two adjacent sentences with the same word…ANYWAY,
so i decided that i would sort of play around with it and add it into something that i would bake.
i mean after all, if you broke it down it would be: butter, sugar, cream, pineapple
so it couldnt be that bad–right?
so i looked over a white cake recipe and roughly followed it. meaning that i condensed the recipe to 10 cupcakes from 40 cupcakes. and i didnt really measure anything.
i kind of just threw an almost-cup of flour into a bowl and a pat of butter here and a dash of baking powder there. no measuring spoons or anything…but once you start baking, and once you start baking for a while, you kind of know what looks good together and how much to add of something else, so all was not so so lost.
anyway,
15-20minutes later, i had some delicious pineapple-y muffins/cupcakes. mmm it was yummy…
it had a crispy top and soft inside with pineapple bits. yum yum yum yum.
yeah you can say that i was SUPER DUPER happy with the results.
pictures later. im going to bed. -__-
