scones. SCONES! (&other news)
i made scones today! and yesterday…
but i made yesterday’s batch as more of an experiment, but dont worry–no food was wasted because my parents are now happily munching on the first batch of scones.
i am kind of glad i decided to do two batches because the first one was…interesting.
i mean it tastes all right. actually, [...]

YES, you definitely read that title correctly. today, i tried making a recipe from the blog site, Joy the Baker (another joy, not me heh) that was a vegan chocolate cake (i just made them into cupcakes) that used avocados IN the cake batter and IN the frosting as well!
so what was the results? *drumrollll*

i am the muffin man…er, woman.
…i know why i keep on making so many muffins/cupcakes.
1. i like small portions of desserts. when i bake a cake, i get overwhelmed at the amount of cake that people will have to eat.
2. i personally enjoy the quaint dainty look of a cupcake rather than a huge lobbing cake. (i dont know where [...]

experimenting
i dont really like to experiment that much whenever i bake. now cooking is a different story because you dont have to worry about being exact on flour measurements or whether orn ot you added baking powder versus baking soda…
baking is so tedious.
anyway, so i had a disastrous pineapple frosting/jam incident the last time i [...]

4+hrs in the kitchen
today i spent around 4-5hrs in the kitchen bking 60-70 cupcakes.

good thing i prepped the night before…i love [...]

abrasive
choose your words carefully.
it is SO easy to just throw words at someone to sound smart/loving/wise/annoyed/etc.
there are only oh so many words that can describe a specific type of characteristic/feeling; so when people start to exploit those words, then that word starts to sound cheap, and desensitized to whoever is listening.
and if you are going [...]

happy father’s day
show your dad/father-figure how grateful you are to them that they didn’t stuff you in a shoebox and sold you for $12.
(and if you don’t have a dad, hence “father-figure”! )
i was going to make my dad a cake for father’s day, but unfortunatley at our local church, there was a huge bakesale. i [...]

baking and cooking and whatnots
this past year, ive been havingĀ a strange relationship with baking.
with cooking not so much. i mean, most everything i cook/make ends up coming out eatible and pretty yummy (to me at least).
however, not with baking. in high school and beginning of college i was a pretty decent baker. i mean, most of the stuff [...]

apple stuff
i normally dont really like a lot of food with apple in it. except for apple pie and apple juice. but other things such as: apple scones, apple crisps, apple muffins, apple bread, apple stew (never had it, i just kind of made it up, but im sure there is such a thing…)
but, today i [...]
